NEW CONTEST!!! Savannah Russe has graciously donated several copies of her most recent Darkwing Chronicles book: In the Blood (book 4) and five t-shirts with her logo on them! I had intended to try and do something a little fancier and more complicated than our usual contest this month, but just ran out of time. So another easy one to enter!

All you have to do is Send us an e-mail with "Why I love the Darkwing Chronicles series!" in the subject line. Please include your name, e-mail address, mailing address, and why you love the series. We may even mention your comments in a future newsletter and update! (This information is for our purposes only. We will not share or sell any information)

Friends, fondue, and lunar eclipses

add in a little wine and you have my wild crazy evening last night.

Last night was my DFW Tea book club dinner. We do this once a month where we have a phone conversation with the author of the month and we pick a food theme for the night. This month was Stephanie Bond and fondue. And of course, we always have some form of alcohol, usually suited to the food theme at thee get togethers.

Stephanie was a real trooper, especially since several times throughout the evening we broke out into giggle fits when someone lost food in teh fondue or food went flying due to too many of us trying to dig in to the fondue at the same time.

We did a three course fondue dinner. First course - cheese fondue with veggies, bread and apples. Second course was shrimp, beef, chicken, potatoes and different veggies in some sort of Asian broth fondue. Third course was two kinds - PB Chocolate and dark chocolate with grand marnier - and more fruit, cookies, rice krispie squares, pound cake. And of course wine throughout. I ate SOOO much I felt sick! but of course I had to try EVERYthing and every fondue. I blew my entire diet I've been working really hard to stick to since the new year. I feel like I need to starve myself the rest of the week to make up for it (not that I will of course, I like to eat too much) I can't remember the last time I ate so much food at one meal. I even had a hard time sleeping my stomach hurt so much from all the food I gorged myself on.

In between courses tonight we all went outside to watch the lunar eclipse. Did you get to see it at all? It was a full eclipse about 9:00 central time. When it went full, it was a red orange color and way cool! Lots of clouds in the sky which impaired our ability to view it periodically but every time I see an eclipse I'm in awe of it.
